Baseball DTI approves the progress on Parque de Pelota Saturnino Bengoa

With the objective of verifying the advances of the work being made to the facilities where the competition will take place, the baseball International Technical Delegate (ITD), George Santiago, visited Parque de Pelota Saturnino Bengoa.

During his visit, the ITD could verify the progress in the remodeling works that are being made to the venue prior to the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.

For the Puerto-Rican delegate, the progress observed were significant compared to previous visits. “I see a completely different change from my first two visits, I see that some work is being done. This seems to be going well”, he commented.

The tour was also joined by representatives from Infrastructure and Sports from COSSAN2023, who shared observations and suggestions seeking to get the ballpark in top condition for the games, which will be held from June 23rd to July 8th.

“I like to be positive, and I hope that it’s ready by the end of April or mid-May”, Santiago added.

The delegate also recognized the work of COSSAN2023, from which he highlighted, among other things, the communication since the event was granted to the capital city.

“I have been in contact with them for about a year and a half, since the games were moved here. There’s a lot of communication, and this third visit to the country has been excellent”, he expressed.

Regarding the preparation of the national team, Cabrera also seemed optimistic with the work being made prior to the games.

“We are seeing some development with our players, we want them to be top-notch for the games, and make people see that our baseball is improving. We all these months to keep improving, we know that we need it to be at our best for the games, and of course, to have a great youth talent pool.”, he remarked.
