Cabañas and Cuscatlán witnessed the Central American and Caribbean Fire

On Tuesday, the New Fire celebrated its first week of arrival in El Salvador from Mexico in the hands of the president of the San Salvador 2023 Organizing Committee, Yamil Bukele.

And it was precisely on this day that the torch departed from Sensuntepeque, Cabañas, on its way to Cojutepeque, Cuscatlán, after passing through Santa Ana and Chalatenango over the weekend.

In today’s tour, the New Fire passed through the main streets of the municipalities of Guacotecti, San Isidro, Ilobasco, San Rafael Cedros, and El Carmen until it reached Cojutepeque, the capital of the department of Cuscatlán.

In this place, there was a great welcome for the sports flame by local authorities and the public, who did not want to miss the arrival of the symbol of the games.

The Fuego Nuevo will spend the night in Cuscatlán, and tomorrow it plans to leave for San Vicente. The route includes the municipalities of Santo Domingo, Verapaz, Tepetitán, San Cayetano Istepeque, and Apastepeque.
