COSSAN and Centro Caribe Sports develop a workshop for volunteer recruitment teams

The Organizing Committee of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 (COSSAN) and Centro Caribe Sports (CCS), developed today the workshop named “The Soul of the Games”, aimed to the volunteer recruitment teams.

The invited audience included representatives from the private universities of the country, the National Youth Institute (INJUVE), the Municipal Sports Institute from San Salvador City Hall (IMDER) and the volunteer staff from COSSAN.

One of the speakers was Eduardo Alvarez, General Secretary from CCS, who gave a conference on volunteer training. “We hope that all the teams will be properly trained, with a mass participation, making this a celebration for San Salvador, the Continent, Central American and the Caribbean,” said Álvarez.

On his part, the President from the Olympic Committee of El Salvador, Armando Bruni, attended the workshop with his presentation “Olympism” because he considers that the volunteers should know about the subject since, they will be the face of the country before the international delegations that will come for the Games.

“It is important that our volunteers know what Olympism is. Olympism is a philosophy of life based on values, which seeks excellence through sports, the integration of nations and that is important for the volunteer to know,” said Bruni.

Finally, Sara Rosario Vélez, Vice President from Centro Caribe Sports and President of the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee, closed the workshop with a speech on the legacy of volunteerism.

“After the Games, the number of children and young people who will come to the sports venues will be incredible,” said Vélez.

The Chief from COSSAN’s Volunteering Program, Hugo Salazar, was pleased with the results of the volunteering workshop. “The idea is to have the teams immerse in knowledge and support us in the process of recruiting young people,” said Salazar.
