Men’s beach soccer team trains for San Salvador 2023

The men’s beach soccer team returned to training today as part of the preparation for the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, to be held from June 23 to July 8.

The team coached by Rudis Gallo returns to training after taking third place in the Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship 2023. The national team took some time off, so starting this week, the training sessions will be focused on making a satisfactory performance in the regional competition.

“The work should not stop, taking into consideration our commitments. We are close to the Central American and Caribbean Games, where we will try to make a good presentation, and that is our main goal for now; then we have the trip to Indonesia for the World Beach Games in August, and we will have a quadrangular in Florida, United States, so we have work to do“, said Gallo.

The strategist assured that the micro-cycles for this new process are short, but that this is a group that has been working since the beginning of the year, so the practices do not start from scratch.

“We have just a few weeks before the Central American and Caribbean Games; it is a short process, but since we are coming from the qualifiers for the World Games in Bali and then the CONCACAF Championship, we have not stopped. Fortunately, we have had a very active year with the boys,” explained Rudis.

This week, the national team has two new additions: Jonathan Valiente, goalkeeper of Garita Palmera, and Kevin Criollo, goalkeeper of Barra Ciega, both teams of the Beach Soccer League.

“There are few new additions; we have only incorporated Kevin, from Barra Ciega, and Valiente, from Garita Palmera; it is part of the opportunities we want them to have in the national team. I have always said that the national team is open to all those who want to be part of it, as long as their performance is adequate,” said Gallo.

Regarding center Rubén Batres, the coach said that the attacker from La Pirraya is working towards a full recovery, so his chances of making the final roster will have to wait. The absences also included Heber Ramos and Exon Perdomo, both for personal reasons.
