San Salvador 2023 Games already have a date

The president ad honorem of the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES) and president of the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, Yamil Bukele, confirmed this morning that the regional competition will be held from June 23 to July 8.

The announcement comes after the weekend, during the Extraordinary General Assembly of Centro Caribe Sports, the Organizing Committee of San Salvador 2023, gave a report on how the organization of the sporting event is progressing.

Yamil Bukele, Armando Bruni and Dinora Acevedo, president, vice-president and general director of the San Salvador 2023 Organizing Committee, respectively, participated in the assembly, which was held virtually.

We have taken on this challenge with a lot of responsibility and enthusiasm, and our goal is to organize high level games with all the required standards. We are working hard to receive them in the best way, that they enjoy and know our country but, above all, that it is a high-level competition, “said Bukele during the meeting.

The president of INDES and COSSAN also reported that, thanks to the formation of the Sports Cabinet, the work for the fair is progressing in the best way and this has allowed the prompt intervention of the nine scenarios that will host the main competitions.

For her part, Dinora Acevedo, General Director, presented the progress that has been made in preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023. She also spoke about the sports included in the competition calendar, lodging, security, health and other important aspects for the implementation of the competition.

For his part, Luis Mejia, president of Centro Caribe Sports, thanked the report of the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, and highlighted the articulated work that is being done in preparation for the sporting event.

We are more than pleased with the work being done by the Organizing Committee. I am pleased to see the El Salvador Olympic Committee (COES), INDES and the Government united, since this gives us guarantees that it will be a great event”, said Mejia.

In the Extraordinary General Assembly it was also informed that the international technical delegates (ITD) will visit the country from March 28 to 31 and from April 18 to 22, 2022.
