San Salvador 2023 Organizing Committee and Sports Cabinet fine-tune details of articulated work

The Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 (COSSAN) and the Sports Cabinet held a meeting today to fine tune details about the articulated work that is being carried out for the regional sports event.

The meeting was headed by Yamil Bukele, president of COSSAN, and Carolina Recinos, Presidential Commissioner for Operations and Cabinet, who explained that the meeting was of utmost importance to begin coordinating the work that will be done to implement the fair.

This meeting is to know what we have been working on and to coordinate the commissions that will be necessary to start up the San Salvador 2023 Games”, said Recinos.

For his part, Bukele presented a summary of what the organizing committee has done to date, such as signing the contract for the games with Centro Caribe Sport, attending the Extraordinary General Assembly of the organization to present the progress towards San Salvador 2023 and the committee meetings.

However, the president of COSSAN emphasized that the approach of this day was vital, since the articulated work of all the ministries of State that make up the Sports Cabinet will contribute to El Salvador to organize the best Central American and Caribbean Games in history.

We do not have much time, so we want to take the sporting event with the utmost seriousness, that is why we want to coordinate the work through commissions and thus move forward with the San Salvador 2023 Games. We know the good articulated work being done by the government of President Nayib Bukele, so we are confident in organizing the best event in history,” said Bukele.

The president of COSSAN also said that they have negotiated for the facilities of the University of El Salvador (UES) to function as the Village of the San Salvador 2023 Games, but they will have to adapt some areas to receive the athletes in the best way.

On her part, Dinora Acevedo, general director of the Organizing Committee of the San Salvador 2023 Games, described the work that will be done through the different commissions and the advances that have been made about the competition.

Meanwhile, Morena Valdez, Minister of Tourism, urged all the representatives of the State portfolios to fully join the project of the games, as they will leave an important legacy to the country. Lets do our best because many countries will be watching these games, she said.

For his part, Armando Bruni, president of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador (COES), pledged to support the work of COSSAN and the Sports Cabinet, so that the Games will be a success.

I want to put at the disposal of the Sports Cabinet the COES staff, since we have people with a lot of experience in this type of competitions. We are willing to collaborate and we are committed to these games, since they will leave a great legacy to the country”, said Bruni.
