Aiming to have the best sports venue for the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, the International Technical Delegate (ITD) for shooting sport, Rafael Guerra, visited the facilities of the federation at the Estadio Jorge “El Mágico” González today.
“This is my second visit to the country as a technical delegate, and I see that there is a working team that understands the demands generated by being the organizers of the event. There are some details that need to be improved and must be fulfilled as soon as possible to have a good competition”, said Guerra.
Regarding the sub-venue in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he stated that the sporting venue is ready to host the shotgun trials.
“I know the venue of the shooting range, I have been there, it has a good sports scenario, there is little to be improved. As for the delegate, the two events coincide in date, we have decided that Luis Valladares, from Puerto Rico, will be the delegate in that venue, while I join, which will be at the end of the competitions in El Salvador”, explained Rafael.
However, the International Technical Delegate indicated that this would be his last visit prior to the San Salvador 2023 Games.
“I was informed that these works will be ready very soon, which is a positive thing. In my case, I will return a couple of weeks before the start of the competitions, to see how we are with the stage, competition base and the arrival of the delegations,” said the ITD.
For his part, Francisco Ramos, president of the Sport Shooting Federation, guaranteed that the logistic work for the development of the competition is being organized according to the required times.
“I was very pleased with the meeting that we had with the ITD and the staff of the Sports Area of the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games (COSSAN2023), in which we confirmed details such as logistics, competition manual, and budget. It is important to mention that the staff of the organization are knowledgeable about the work that needs to be done”, added Ramos.
