The President of Centro Caribe Sports is pleased with the progress of the Estadio Nacional Jorge “El Mágico” González

The president of the Organizing Committee of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games El Salvador 2023 (COSSAN2023), Yamil Bukele, and the head of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejía Oviedo, visited the Estadio Nacional Jorge “El Mágico” González today to check on the progress of that stage, en route to the 2023 San Salvador Games.

“Welcome to the ‘Mágico’ González Stadium,” the president of COSSAN2023 said before the tour, then he shared information with the international leader about the work done.

This is the sports stage in which the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2023 San Salvador Games, which will be celebrated from June 23rd to July 8th, will take place. The stadium will also be the venue for the track and field competitions.

Luis Mejía Oviedo stated that he was very pleased with the progress, and recalled that this was his second visit to this stadium.

“I came when we presented the request for the venue, now we have found an almost-total change of what the new Estadio Nacional Jorge “El Mágico” González will be. This emblematic stadium will be the venue for the opening ceremony, as well as track and field, which are two important things. I can also say that I am leaving extremely pleased from this visit, we have been shown everything and all of our questions have been answered.” the head of Centro Caribe Sports stated.

The tour was joined by Dinora Acevedo, general director of COSSAN2023, Jimena Saldaña, vice-president of Centro Caribe Sports; Francisco Camacho, minister of sports of the Dominican Republic; Armando Bruni, president of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador, along with other personalities of the regional sports entity.

 “The company in charge has the experience, they have built around 40 or 50 tracks. I wanted to certify we had specialized personnel, and we’re leaving very pleased with the progress of the work. They are even working in two shifts, and there are also novelties such as the warm-up track. They have real professionals in this project, and I am leaving with the utmost assurance that this construction will be ready and certified for the Games that will start on June 23rd, and it will be a great work”, added the Dominican sports lead.
