VIP Protocol and Press volunteers are trained!

The Protocol and Press Departments of the Organizing Committee of the San Salvador 2023 Games held training sessions today to form teams of collaborators in preparation for the sporting event that begins in 20 days.

“We are conducting the specific training for Protocol volunteers for VIP Rooms, as well as attachés who will accompany the dignitaries and foreign sports authorities. We are training around 250 volunteers who will be responsible for providing the best attention on behalf of COSSAN2023 to all our special guests,” said Efrain Aguirre, VIP Protocol coordinator.

Congresswoman Ana Figueroa, an expert in diplomacy and president of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Congress, was invited as a speaker at this workshop.

“You are going to have quite a big task because you will be the first ones that our visitors will see when entering the country, and you will be close to them. You will represent our country; this whole event, which is wonderful, will help our country to continue changing the bad image it had in previous years,” said the legislator.

Figueroa added: “I want to encourage you to take on this responsibility with a smile; you will be our best representatives and ambassadors. Thanks to COSSAN for all the organization you are doing”, said the congresswoman in her talk held in the auditorium of the Universidad Francisco Gavidia.

The Press Area occupied the university’s Mario Ruiz auditorium to train 155 volunteers on topics such as cluster integration, information flow, operation of the Main Press Room and the Villa Centroamericana, press accreditation, media relations, social networks, and video production, among others.

The training was given by Carlos Merino, coordinator of Social Networks; Guillermo López, coordinator of Cluster 5 Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández; and Edward Gutiérrez, coordinator of COSSAN’s Operations Center.
