This afternoon, the president of the Organizing Committee of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 (COSSAN2023), Yamil Bukele, presented Volco, the second of the mascots of the regional event that our country will host from June 23 to July 8.
Volco is the personification of a volcano, those places located on the earth’s surface that expel magmatic material, totally or partially molten, and which abound in El Salvador.
The story of Volco tells of a volcano with a will of fire that transcended and left the earth. It had powerful arms and legs that could bear any weight. And so, one night, seven bright stars crossed the sky. Determinedly watching them, the volcano decided to follow them.
He learned a lot from them.
He ran, he pushed himself, he climbed, and he conquered.
The stars recognized his tenacity and entrusted him to guide the new legends through the most difficult trials.
And now it’s time to give everything.
Volco is ready to go beyond!
