Weightlifting had technical review

The Peruvian José Quiñones, international weightlifting technical delegate, met with technical liaisons of the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 (COSSAN) to review the respective competition manuals, calendars and other details of the weightlifting logistics.

The visit of Quiñones, also president of the Pan American Weightlifting Federation,
is part of the advances in the organization of the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games.

After the meeting, Quiñones toured the Sports Center of the University of El Salvador and visited the facilities of the Salvadoran Weightlifting Federation in Ayutuxtepeque.

“The visit leaves me with a very positive impression, there is a well-integrated team with the Salvadoran Weightlifting Federation that wants the best and we see very well that the infrastructure that this month is already undergoing repair and maintenance to adapt it for next year’s Games. There is quite a bit of enthusiasm for the party that will celebrate weightlifting and Salvadoran sports. The infrastructure is there,” Quiñones said.

Weightlifting is added to bowling, athletics (track and field), bodybuilding, artistic gymnastics, gymnastics, archery, triathlon, swimming, artistic swimming, chess, fencing, tennis, softball, water polo and sailing, among other sports, that already had their respective technical review.
