“We’re ready to bring the games to life”: Alex Rodriguez, volunteering technician

Alex Rodriguez, a technical specialist, revealed today on Radio Sonora that the COSSAN2023 Technical Volunteering Area has managed to recruit more than 7,000 people, of whom 1,500 have already completed their general training in preparation for the San Salvador 2023 Games.

The success in recruiting volunteers for the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games is the result of the joint work with different state entities, says Rodriguez, who is touring several television and radio stations to promote a volunteer rally.

The “volunteerally”, says Alex, will be held this Saturday at Complejo Deportivo Chapupo Rodriguez with the objective of sharing a few hours with 500 of those volunteers who have already passed their first training program.

“There will be 20 activities, including games and dynamics; we’re going to talk with the volunteers; we’re even going to splash water on each other,” says Rodriguez.

Weeks ago, groups of volunteers were doing their first practices in two major events: the ANOC World Beach GamesBali 2023-Qualifier El Salvador and the COSSAN Chefs de Mission Seminar.

“Everyone has already started to get involved in the San Salvador 2023 Games; we are ready to bring the games to life,” said Rodriguez, 50 days before the regional competition.

Rodriguez was asked, “What is left to do now?” His answer was: “After the general training, we have the specific training provided by the different sports federations and the different areas of the organizing committee. Once that is completed, we have to enjoy the biggest party in the history of the region and, without a doubt, get down to work, enjoy the games, live the experience, and develop those skills at a professional level, which is the basis of the volunteer program”.
