“You are going to put on a great event”: José Luis Ramírez, karate ITD

Today, the International Technical Director (DTI) of karate, José Luis Ramírez, inspected the facilities of the Academia Británica Cuscatleca, located in Santa Tecla.

The Dominican Republic is counting on these facilities and those of the Instituto Técnico Centroamericano (ITCA) to choose the karate competition venue for the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.

“You will be hosting a great karate event; you will have Pan American champions, world medalists, and Central American and Caribbean medalists; you will have an excellent range of karate here with a team from El Salvador that is also very good and compels the community to come and compete,” said the Dominican.

The ITD also praised El Salvador for taking on the challenge of hosting the games after Panama declined to do so due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“After the pandemic, everyone was indisposed; the responsibility with which El Salvador has assumed these games deserves that we all contribute to them, and I believe they will be very successful,” added Ramirez.
